Perak’s Gopeng Tamil School has been deteriorating for many years due to termite damage. Gopeng MP Tan Kar Hing stated that to resolve this issue, the federal government has allocated RM14 million for the construction of a new building.
Tan Kar Hing pointed out that Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh has officially announced in parliament that Gopeng Tamil School will be rebuilt with a new look. He said the federal government approved this allocation following the request he had previously submitted.

Tan Kar Hing announced that preparations will soon begin for the construction of a new building. This announcement was made during a Deepavali community dinner held at the community hall in Simpang Pulai, Gopeng. The event was enhanced by classical musical performances that accompanied the entrance of Gopeng MP, Tan Kar Hing.

Tan Kar Hing expressed his gratitude to the school administration, the Parent-Teacher Association, and the alumni association for their strong support and cooperation, which made the new building project for Gopeng Tamil School possible.
