Village Ponggal Reloaded 2.0
Astro announces the return of its popular festive reality game show with Village Ponggal Reloaded 2.0, bringing viewers an entertaining celebration of tradition, culture and community spirit. The programme follows five city youths as they take part in a variety of traditional village activities, including paddy planting, traditional wrestling, Ponggal preparation, coconut scraping and more. Throughout the challenges, they will be guided and supported by five enthusiastic village girls while adapting to a lifestyle free from gadgets and modern conveniences.
The five-episode reality game show is directed by local filmmaker Shaswin Raj and features Yuvanraj Subramaniam, Arunkumaran, Raj Kumar Mani Maran, Kris Jay Harish, Pavithran Mogan, Madhuri Rasamoney, Sarah Anne Jayarajan, Pevinadevi Pheralagahan, Nishalliny Murugan, Laavanya Shwetha Bhan, and Kishok.
Village Ponggal Reloaded 2.0 made its premiere on 10 January at 9.30pm.
DU.RI.ME
Astro presents DU.RI.ME, a spine-tingling horror-comedy telemovie directed by local filmmaker Ravindas. The production brings together a stellar ensemble cast featuring Hamsni Perumal, Dharshamini Kesavan, Subhasree Vairamuthu, Sangabalan, Navinho, and others.
The telemovie centres on Durga, a young executive at a telecommunications company, who embarks on a suspense-filled quest to uncover her great-grandfather’s rumoured hidden fortune. With time running out and mounting pressures, Durga’s search for the long-lost treasure becomes a thrilling race that may change her life forever.
DU.RI.ME is set to premiere on 17 January at 9.30pm.
Up-Close and Personal with Srinivas
Astro is set to delight music lovers with Up-Close and Personal with Srinivas, an exclusive musical event headlined by renowned Indian playback singer Srinivas. Audiences can look forward to an intimate evening as he revisits some of his most memorable songs including Minsara Poove, Muzhumathy, Chotta Chotta and other timeless favourites sure to awaken nostalgia among longtime fans.
Adding to the experience are dynamic performances by acclaimed local talents Arulini, Hemitra, Thivyah, Kumaresh, and Sri Vidya, together with distinguished Indian playback singers. The showcase promises a heartfelt tribute to evergreen melodies while offering audiences a rare chance to connect with the maestro’s music in a closer, more personal setting.
Up-Close and Personal with Srinivas will premiere on 18 January at 9.00pm.

The celebration will be held on 17 January 2026 (Saturday), from 1.00pm to 3.00pm at GM Klang, and is open to all members of the public.
