The Sri Veera Kaliamman Temple at Gelugor, Penang, has finally received approval to utilize its land after nearly 23 years. The land handover ceremony, which marked this historic achievement for the temple management and devotees, took place at the temple itself.
The Penang State Government has now formally transferred the land to the Penang Hindu Endowments Board (PHEB), ensuring a secure future for the temple and its activities. In 2003, the temple relocated from Kampung Selamat to its current location. Since then, the temple management has been working hard to obtain rightful ownership of the land.

Special recognition is extended to Temple Chairman Dato Nyanasegaran, who played a crucial role in seeking assistance from YB Kumaresan in 2018 to resolve this long-standing issue. Their efforts, along with the commitment of the Penang Hindu Endowments Board under the leadership of Chairman RSN Rayer and Deputy Chairman Dr. Lingesh RA, were significant in securing the approval.

Through the collective efforts of the Board and its commissioners, a total of 25,000 square feet of land has now been approved for the benefit of the temple and the surrounding community. Appreciation is also extended to the Penang State Government and Dato Seri Sundarajoo Somu for their continued support and commitment in making this achievement possible.
