Dato Sivanesan Achalingam has announced that the Perak state government has granted land title approval for Sri Dharma Muneeswarar Temple in Sungai Siput. The temple had previously been situated on land owned by the Forest Protection Department. It was originally built by workers employed under the Public Works Department.
Efforts had been made to secure permanent ownership of the land for the temple, and the matter was brought to Dato Sivanesan’s attention. Following this, the issue was discussed during the state executive council meeting, where approval was obtained from Perak’s Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad.

Dato Sivanesan Achalingam stated that temples located on government land in Perak should not be demolished without proper approval. At the same time, temple management committees should cooperate with government procedures and actions. He warned that if there is resistance or conflict against the government’s efforts, he would not take responsibility for any problems that may arise.
Dato Sivanesan also recalled that solutions had previously been found for temple land issues involving temples located on railway land within the Sungai Siput parliamentary constituency. He specifically mentioned that a resolution had been achieved for the Muneeswarar Temple in Taman Tun Sambanthan.
