Malaysia’s top squash player S.Sivasangari has showed a strong determination as she defeated England’s Lucy Turmel and got her place in the third round in the British Open Game which took place in Birmingham, England.
The world No.5 battled the game and secured a 10-12, 11-2, 11-8, 11-9 victory in 46 minutes. The win is Sivasangari’s third victory over the world No.30 from England.
She was in a tough challenge with Lucy, who won 12-10 in the opening. However, Sivasangari took over in the second game, with a score of 11-2 win to level the match.
She continued her strong performance in the next two games, and stayed calm under pressure as the next scores we’re all close, 11-8 and 11-9. However she managed to seal her spot in the next rounds.
Another Tough Challenge Ahead
Sivasangari’s next big challenge will be against world No.8 Georgina Kennedy from England. This challenge is to get their place in the quarter-finals.

The game will take place on Wednesday. Kennedy has entered the third round after defeating Malak Khafagy from Egypt with 11-5, 11-7. 11-4 in her second-round game.
While Sivasangari will head into the match with confidence, Kennedy holds a 4-1 head-to-head advantage from their previous meetings.
Building On A Strong Year
The victory continues to be a encouraging season for Sivasangari, who has already won two titles this year, which is the Australian Open and Grasshopper Cup.
Sivasangari has been one of Malaysia’s most consistent performers on international stage. Malaysians will continue to hope she will continue her impressive game in the British Open as well.
