A sequel to Thupparivaalan is on cards and the project is currently in progress. A report has it that the film will start rolling from December and the groundwork for it is already on. Lovely Singh will be making her debut with this flick as the heroine.
Thupparivaalan 2 will be directed by Mysskin and will star Vishal in the lead role. The hero will also be bankrolling the film under his banner Vishal Film Factory. While Arol Correli had composed music for Thupparivaalan, the sequel have music score by the maestro Ilaiyaraaja. The team is planning a 45-day single schedule in London and preparations for it are on. The makers also have roped in veteran actors Gautami and Rahman for pivotal roles. Gautami who was last seen in Kamal Hassan’s Papanasam is making her comeback after four years.
On working in the sequel with director Mysskin, Vishal had said in an interview much earlier that he was so impressed with the sequel’s script that he agreed to hop on board the project almost immediately.
Thupparivaalan was an action thriller written and directed by Mysskin. The film was produced by Vishal, who also played the lead role. It’s star cast comprised Prasanna, Andrea Jeremiah and Vinay in the lead roles.
Thupparivaalan was released on September 14 2017 and it went on to score big at the box office. The film was based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s fictional detective character, Sherlock Holmes. After tasting success at the box office in Tamil Nadu, Thupparivaalan’s Telugu dubbed version, titled Detective, was released in Andhra and Telangana. The film’s technical crew included Arrol Corelli for music, Karthik Venkatraman for cinematography and N Arun Kumar for editing.
