Asuran is an upcoming film from the team that brought us stellar Tamil movies like Vada Chennai and Aadukaalam. Director Vetrimaaran never goes wrong with his hard hitting stories, and Dhanush hasn’t disappointed while working with him. The film is adapted from a Tamil novel called Vekkai.
The first look posters for Asuran has been released and fans have been going crazy. The film also stars Malayalam actress Manju Warrier.
The black and white image has a distinct vintage feel to it, with both lead actors posing as husband and wife 50 years ago. The attention to detail in the poster is brilliant with the nostalgic studio backdrop, Dhanush’s suit, Manju’s saree and accessories all hinting at a period film.
Another poster has been released, where a ripped Dhanush appears to be in the midst of a fight scene, with a spear in hand, and a sandstorm around him.
Asuran will bring together the trio that worked on Polladhavan and Aadukalam, Dhanush, Vetrimaaran and GV Prakash. Shooting began on Saturday and the film is expected to release later this year.
