Legendary playback singer, Padma Shree Hariharan performed LIVE on November 12, here in PICC Putrajaya. Along with Hariharan, were super singers pride playback singers Haripriya and Srinisha Jayaseelan.

Full House For Hariharan?

As the gates began to open, audiences walked in with excitement ready to shower their ears with Hariharan’s magically spelled voice. Ticket counters were all well organized with boards and directions to avoid audiences getting confused. Venus production crew and team members did a great job in managing the crowd. Audiences got themselves wristbands according to their seats purchased. Also, a photo booth was available outside the hall, for the crowd to take good photos as they wait in line for the hall to be opened. A lot of people took turns to get their photos to keep is as their remembrance and of course not forgetting feed updates.  As for the VVIPs, a high tea session was available with free merchandise given. At 6 pm sharp when the hall opened, the crowd was managed very well and shown to their seats in an orderly manner.

Crowd warm-up session

Anantha Rajaram was the host throughout the concert. Warming up the crowd, Anantha had a Q&A session with the audience. The mini pop quiz featured questions on the very famous tea and also the main sponsors of the concert, BOH.  Lucky 10 Individuals that got the answers right, were awarded goodies from BOH.

Before bringing the legend in

Our very talented local artists, Hashmitha Selvam and Kumaresh Kamalakannan fueled the concert with an opening act dueting two beautiful songs, Naan Pizhai from Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal and Ennai Konjam from Kaakha Kaakha. The host later brought in and introduced the band that will be performing live alongside the legendary singer. As it was almost time for the legend’s entry, just like pixies adding magic dust to the night, Anantha introduced both Super Singers Haripriya and Srinisha Jayaseelan to the stage.

Crowd Goes Wild

The wait was over and as said on dot, Hariharan made his entry.

“ I am very blessed to perform here today, I realize even small notes or songs played, Malaysia people have an art of admiring it”.

He hypes the magical night with Anbe Anbe kollathey from the movie Jeans. Dressed in fine unique gold embroidered jippa, Hariharan continues his performance as he introduces the beautiful angels that will be dueting with him throughout the night. He encaptivated his eager audience and kept them spellbound for the full 3 hours.

Touching so many hearts that night with his melody, Hariharan performed close to 22 songs including Kurukku sirithavale, enna thalata, Vennilave Vennilave, Mazhai Thuli, Kandu Kondean Kandu kondean and name it many more.

I personally got emotional and mesmerized when Hariharan sang Irava pagala from Poovellam Kettuppar. It has always been my all-time favorite and I believe this song by Hariharan has a separate fan base. In fact, when turned around, the whole crowd was swaying their phone’s flashlight as he performs this masterpiece.

Hariharan astonished the crowd with unseen amounts of energy and enthusiasm. Certain songs he sang were so much different as he improvised and brought in new “gamakas” that nobody could even think of. His Oh Shanthi Shanthi song from Vaaranam Aayiram was indeed his signature performance that had a full-packed energy improvisation. The whole crowd when wow here despite his age gap and the amount of energy he had for this song.

Not missing out both super singer sweethearts Haripriya and Srinisha rocking the stage with the viral internet hit- Mallipoo from VTK. Dressed like Disney princesses, they were very relaxed and jovial on stage. Both did not only perform duets but also had their solo performances that night. Srinisha made the crowd drop their jaws as she sang Senthoora from Bogan. Whereas Haripriya danced her way adding the famous steps of the Bullet song as she sings and excites the crowd. Hariharan joined the bullet dance and shook the crowd with his own steps.

It was really a memory lane felt night. The concert was then brought to an end with an emotional song that again touched many. Hariharan wrapped his performance by singging Uyire Uyire from Bombay. This was a goosebump moment for all.

 Lights and Sound

The Led and lights were all well set up while background visuals perfectly synced along with Hariharan’s performance. It is true when said, a killer light show can add excitement, energy, and emotion to a performance. The background visuals were flawless. The heart of the concert was indeed thanks to the talented magnificent band. The band featured the flute, bass guitar, drummer, keys, and tabla. Just like Hariharan’s energy the band too never seemed to wane throughout the 3-hour concert. Despite certain errors here and there with the soundtracks,  the crowd enjoyed every moment thoroughly to the utmost from the beginning to the end of the show.

The concert ended at 10.20 PM sending off Hariharan and his team. The host takes over and guides the crowd to utilize the doors available for the exit. The organisers have brilliantly brought out the best again. Well-coordinated and amazing stage plans. We want more concerts just like this, shout out to Venus Production.

The feelings we felt at Hariharan’s Live in Malaysia are going to stay with us for a long time. Priceless and close to heart.

Thank you, Hariharan !
