The 114th annual festival(Thiruvizha) of the Devi Sri Maha Kaliamman Temple, located in Buntong Sungai Pari residence, was celebrated with exceptional enthusiasm and fervor. Devotees from various regions across the country congregated to partake in the festivities, which spanned from the 5th to the 7th of this month.
The festival, steeped in tradition and cultural significance, drew a diverse array of worshippers who gathered to pay homage to the revered deity, Devi Sri Maha Kaliamman. Throughout the three-day celebration, the temple grounds buzzed with activity, as devotees engaged in prayers, rituals, and cultural performances.
In preparation for this festival, special ceremonies and rituals have been conducted in honor of Amman since the previous month. Devotees, in observance of this auspicious occasion, have been actively participating by carrying traditional offerings such as milk pots, karagams, and kavadis to the temple. The rituals associated with the festival have deep spiritual significance, serving as a means for devotees to express their gratitude and seek blessings from Amman. Through the act of offering, devotees demonstrate their commitment to their faith and their desire for divine grace.
S. Jayagobi, the Congress President of the Ipoh Barat Constituency, addressed the media during this occasion, highlighting the historical significance of the temple, which has stood for over a century. He commended the temple’s efficient operations and praised its management for delivering excellent services. Additionally, he emphasized ongoing efforts to secure a permanent location for the temple, urging for a swift resolution to this matter.
