Grand Celebration of Masi Magam at Batu Caves with Dual Chariot Procession

Masi Magam was celebrated with great devotion and grandeur in temples yesterday. This auspicious festival, observed during the Tamil month of Masi, is a significant occasion for devotees. Large gatherings participated in processions and prayers, creating a divine and festive atmosphere.

Batu Caves witnessed a grand celebration of the Masi Magam festival, featuring a majestic chariot procession. Special poojas were performed at the Durga Devi Amman Temple, located within this sacred site, attracting a large number of devotees who gathered to seek divine blessings.

Following the pooja, the grand chariot procession carrying the deities of Sri Ganesar and Sri Varatharajar commenced from the temple at 6pm. Devotees gathered in large numbers to witness and participate in the sacred event, offering prayers and chanting hymns as the beautifully adorned chariot made its way through Sentul Pasar. After a spiritually enriching journey, the chariot reached the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple.

The chariot procession traveled through several major roads, beginning its journey along Jalan MRR 2 and continuing through Jalan Sri Batu Caves, Jalan 46/10, and Jalan Sentul. It then proceeded along Jalan Enam, making its way back onto Jalan Sentul before moving through Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, and Jalan Raja. From there, the procession passed through Lebuh Pasar Besar, Jalan Petaling, and Jalan Tun H.S. Lee before finally reaching the Maha Mariamman Devasthanam, where devotees gathered to offer their prayers and take part in the sacred rituals.

The Masi Magam celebrations at Batu Caves were marked by deep devotion, vibrant processions, and sacred rituals, bringing together a large community of devotees in a spiritually uplifting experience.
