Inclusive approach introduced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is seen as a strong step to uplift Indian community in Malaysia, specially in improving socio-economic conditions.
Selangor PKR Secretary-General Jestin Raj Savarimuthu has said Datuk Anwar has consistently stood for justice and equality for all Malaysians, no matter what race or religion they are. Its a principle he has follows since his time as Leader of the Opposition.
According to him, this commitment clearly shows the country’s governance, even as the administration faces political challenges. He said that the efforts to support Indian community is carried out in a more structured and comprehensive manner.
Jestin Raj highlighted the role of MITRA (Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit) as the main platform in building programmes for the community. He explained that since its restructuring in 2018, and placement under the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), MITRA became more effective in implementation and accountability.
He said the recent allocations, including RM6 Million for tamil schools and RM8 million for temple development are proves that the government is committed to strengthening important community institutions.

At the same time, Jestin Raj also said that while Indian community continues to contribute significantly in many sectors, issues like poverty still need focused attention.
Efforts to address this include initiatives like RM220 million Indian Entrepreneur Capital and Economic Stimulus Package (MUDRA), introduced by Steven Sim Chee Keong under KUSKOP (Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives).

This aims to support micro, small and medium entreprises (MSMEs) and cooperatives in the Indian community.
Jestin Raj showed confidence that these targeted and transparent step shows a positive direction, helping to build trust and improve overall well-being of the community.
