Love is often spoken about, searched for and celebrated, and it remains one of the most misunderstood experiences in life. According to Sadhguru, true love is not something people do for one another, but a way of being that transforms how they experience the world around them.
“Love Isn’t a Transaction. It’s a Way of Being,” Sadhguru challenges the common understanding of love as an exchange between two people. He instead describes love as an inner state that exists beyond expectations, conditions and calculations.
Sadhguru explains that many relationship becomes transactional when people begin measuring what they give and what they receive in return. There are questions like “Do you love me as much as I love you?” often turn a human experience into a form of negotiation.
According to him, genuine love is not looking for profit or reward. It is about being in a state of love regardless of circumstances without expecting anything in return.

“Love is not something that you do, it is something you become,” he says.
Looking Inward Instead of Outward
One of Sadhguru’s teaching is the importance of turning inward. He believes frustrations arise when people focus only on external achievements, possessions, or comparisons with others.
He points out that human beings enter life with nothing and leave with nothing. Making constant calculations of gain and loss is meaningless. Instead cultivating inner fulfillment allows people to experience life with greater joy, peace and appreciation.
Seeing the World Through Love
When a person is truly in love, the feeling goes more than one person. A tree, a mountain, the sky, or even a simple moment can become beautiful because love is not tied to a specific person or outcome, Sadhuguru said.

He describes love as transformative focus which changes the way people see and respond to life. Instead of allowing external situations determine who they are, individuals has to choose to let their inner state guide their actions.
