The government has approved RM50 million allocation from the High Impact Programme Fund under the Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK) to enhance the implementation of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) 2.0 initiative.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the allocation during the launch of the National TVET Day 2026 celebration at Dataran Putrajaya. He said the funding will be used to expand training programmes, increase industry exposure opportunities, and improve the overall quality of skills development in Malaysia.

According to Prime Minister, the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that TVET remains aligned with current and future industry demands. He stressed that close cooperation between the government, employers, and industry players is essential to ensure the success of the programme and to produce a highly skilled workforce that meets market needs.
The Prime Minister also called on industry stakeholders to work closely with the National TVET Council to strengthen coordination and create more effective training pathways for students and trainees. He noted that stronger industry involvement would help ensure that training programmes remain relevant and provide better employment opportunities for graduates.

Held under the theme “TVET Pilihan Utama Kerjaya” (TVET as the Career Choice of the Future), the three-day National TVET Day 2026 celebration brings together more than 107 agencies, educational institutions, and industry players from nine key sectors. The event aims to showcase career opportunities in TVET while promoting technical and vocational education as a key driver of Malaysia’s economic growth and workforce development.
