Malaysian squash player Sivasangari has qualified for her place in the PSA Squash Tour Finals for the second consecutive year, marking another important achievement in her season.
She will now compete in Paris, France from June 17th to 20th June. A total of 16 players, top eight men and top eight women players will be in the Tour Finals. The prize money for this is US$355,000.

Sivasangari has been winning back-to-back titles this year, from the Australian Open and the Grasshopper Cup in Switzerland. Her consistency has got her the place among world’s sports players in Paris. She is hoping to improve on her performance from last year’s Tour Finals in Ontario, Canada, where she lost all three of her matches.

This year’s tournaments will have a different format, with players competing in straight knockout competition from the first round, instead of their normal traditional group-stage format. A first-round victory will immediately get them a place in the semi-finals.
Tough Competition Awaits
The women’s match will include some of the world best squash players such as world No.1 Hania El Hammamy, world No.2 Nour El Sherbini from Egypt, Amina Orfi, world No.7 Fayrouz Aboelkheir, world No.4 Weaver, world No.6 Watanabe and world No.8 Georgina Kennedy of England.
National coach Ajaz Azmat said Sivasangari is expected to either face Weaver or Watanabe in the first round. He believes she is prepared for the game after training in Prague under former world champion coach Gregory Gaultier.
