Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global signed a agreement to open three new hotels in India and Nepal. This strengthens their partnership and have their presence in the luxury and premium hospitality sector in South Asia.
The agreement will introduce three big Marriott brands, which is The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu, The Westin Kathmandu, and JW Marriott Hotel Siliguri. This is expected to open in 2031 and will have nearly 450 rooms in addition to Marriott’s portfolio.
The signing ceremony was attended by David Marriott, Marriott International’s Chairman of the Board; Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International and Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia, Marriott International; Dr Binod K Chaudhary, Chairman CG Corp Global & CG Hospitality, Mr. Rahul Chaudhary, Managing Director & CEO CG Corp Global & CG Hospitality Global.

Strengthening a Growing Partnership
CG Hospitality Global, is one of Nepal’s largest multinational groups. They have business in hospitality, financial services, education, infrastructure, real estate and many other sectors. CG Hospitality Global has been working closely with Marriott in a few hospitality projects across the region.
Marriott International’s Chairman of the Board, Rajeev Menon has said this shows a commitment to provide world-class hospitality experience while supporting tourism, growth, employment opportunities, and economic development.

The Ritz-Carlton Debuts in Nepal
Ritz-Carlton will be the debut in Nepal. It’s located in Kathmandu, and the hotel is expected to have 150 guest rooms including 30 suites. The plans also includes 5 restaurants and bars, an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, The Ritz-Carlton Spa, and more than 1,100 square metres of meeting and event space.
The property will be around five kilometres away from Tribhuvan International Airport and near to major attractions like Thamel, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambunath Stupa, Narayanhiti Palace Museum, and Pashupatinath Temple.

Wellness-Focused Stay at The Westin Kathmandu
The Westin Kathmandu is also part of the plan. It will have approximately 150 rooms and suites. The hotel is planned to have 3 dining outlets, a WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio, Heavenly Spa by Westin, a rooftop swimming pool and more than 700 square metres of meeting and event space.
It will be around seven kilometres from Tribhuvan International Airport, the property will focus on the brand’s wellness pillars of Sleep Well, Eat Well and Move Well. This gives guest a balanced and comfortable travel experience.
In India, this partnership will bring JW Marriott Hotel Siliguri to West Bengal. Located near foothills of Himalayas, the hotel will have 150 rooms and suites, four dining venues, a Spa by JW, outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre and around 1,500 square metres of banquet space. The hotel is around 10 kilometres from Bagdogra Airport.
Continued Expansion Across the Region
The latest agreement shows the growing collab between Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global. Recently, they have celebrated 75 hotel signings and 50 operational properties under Series by Marriott in India.

Their partnership expands beyond South Asia, including the opening of The Farm at San Benito, Autography Collection in Philippines and announcement of JW Marriott Residences at Dubai Islands, which is the first JW Marriott, branded residence in Dubai.
This strengthens the relationship between Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global as both continue to expand hospitality offerings in different markets in the region.
