All Technical Secondary Schools Now Placed Under Fully Residential Schools Division, Says YB Fadhlina

All 9 Technical Secondary Schools (SMT) in Malaysia has been officially placed under the management of the Fully Residential Schools Management Division (BPSBP). Which is under the Ministry of Education (MOE).

Education Minister YB Fadhlina Sidek has said the move is more than a administrative change. It’s a strategic step to strengthen the country’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) agenda and improve the quality of technical education.

Part of the new restructuring, the schools will be known as Technical Fully Residential Schools (SBP-T). And this change is expected to place these institution on the same level as other fully residential schools while maintaining a strong focus on both academic and technical excellence.

According to Fadhlina, the restructuring is the government’s commitment to produce high skilled students who are capable of meeting the future workforce needs, especially in fields related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

She said the role of SBP-T will continue to strengthen to ensure students get quality education and training that prepares them for future careers in technical and professional industries.

Before this, the technicals secondary schools were managed by Technical and Vocational Education Division (BPLTV). With the transfer to BPSBP, the schools is expected to benefit from a more focused approach that combines strong academic performance with technical skills.

The move is a important step in supporting Malaysia’s efforts to build skilled workforce that can meet demands of future industries. This restructuring is expected to help improve overall quality of technical education, support talent development, and produce more skilled graduates.
