Well, the wait is finally over!
The most anticipated film trailer Maara is out now. Helmed by Dhilip Kumar, who is well-know for his short film entitled Kalki in 2017. Maara, however marks Dhilip Kumar’s feature film debut.
Actor Shraddha Srinath, who shared the screen space in Vikram Vedha with Madhavan, plays the leading lady in Maara, as Paaru.
The first official trailer for the film stands at two minutes long and only hints at a possible storyline — but from the few scenes featured, it looks to be the start of one epic suspense.

The trailer depicts the life of Paaru, who is fascinated by the paintings and sets out to meet Madhavan’s artist, Maara. The film was originally set for a theatrical release, but its producers have opted for a streaming release due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Amazon Prime OTT was expected to debut Maara on 17th December, but it was later postponed to 8th January, 2021.
Maara is the remake of the Malayalam hit Charlie, which was helmed by Martin Prakkat. The 2015 movie became a major breakthrough for Dulquer Salmaan as it achieved critical acclaim. Director Dhilip Kumar noted earlier that Maara will be a reinterpretation of Charlie rather than a scene-for-scene remake.
Maara, produced by Pramod Films’ Prateek Chakravorty and Shruti Nallappa, also stars Sshivada Nair, Alexander Babu and Mouli.
