Kamal Hassan’s ‘Vikram’ and Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’ Sweep Osaka Tamil International Film Festival

The Osaka Tamil International Film Festival is an annual event that brings Tamil cinema to an international audience. Kamal Hassan’s ‘Vikram’ and Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’ dominated the Osaka Tamil International Film Festival, winning the majority of the awards. However, Kamal Hassan’s ‘Vikram’ received seven awards, leading Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’, which received six.

Beast, Love Today, and Saani Kaayidham are the other films on the winner’s list of the Osaka Tamil International Film Festival.The Osaka Tamil International Film Festival recently picked Tamil films released in 2022, and the winners were announced.

Here are all the awards of the Osaka Tamil International Film Festival :
  • Best Tamil Film of the Year: ‘Vikram’
  • Best Actor of the Year: Kamal Haasan, ‘Vikram’
  • Best Actress of the Year: Keerthy Suresh, ‘Saani Kaayidham’
  • Best Music Director of the Year: Anirudh Ravichander, ‘Vikram’
  • Best Director of Photography: Ravi Varman, ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’
  • Best Director of the Year: Mani Ratnam for ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’.
  • Best Screenplay Writer of the Year: Rathna Kumar and Lokesh Kanagaraj
  • Best production house of the year: Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
  • Best Choreographer of the Year: Jani Master, ‘Beast’
  • Best Supporting Actor of the Year – Fahadh Faasil, ‘Vikram’
  • Best Supporting Actress of the Year: Aishwarya Rai, ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’
  • Best Entertainer of the Year: Pradeep Ranganathan – ‘Love Today’
  • Best Villain of the Year: Vijay Sethupathi, ‘Vikram’
  • Best Editor of the Year: Philomin Raj, ‘Vikram’
  • Best Stunt Director of the Year: Anbariv, ‘Vikram’
  • Best Art Director of the Year: Thota Tharani for ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’
  • Best VFX team of the year: NY VFXWAALA Anand, ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’
  • Best Sound Designer of the Year: Krishnamoorthi, ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’.
  • Love Today : Critically appreciated film of the year.

The Osaka Tamil International Film Festival provides a forum for Tamil filmmakers from all over the world to showcase their work and interact with a global audience.
