Viewers can tune in to the local Tamil thriller series “1993,” directed by Sathiarupan Rajah and showcasing a talented cast including Satishvaran, Chandni Nagadurga, Hamsni Perumal, Sangabalan, and more. Produced by local talents Suresh Rogen and Yassmine Harsan, the series follows Arjunan, a homicide detective who is transported thirty years into the future from 1993 to 2023, where he faces a serial killer. To return to 1993 and reunite with his wife, he must solve a murder mystery from 2023. “1993” premieres on June 17 at 9pm on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202), and will be available on TV, Astro GO, On Demand, and sooka, with new episodes airing every Monday to Thursday.
On the international scene, viewers can look forward to the live-action series “Aladdin.” This captivating tale follows Aladdin, an orphan who stumbles upon a magical lamp that transports him into a mystical world. Aladdin falls in love with Princess Yasmine, and together they thwart Zafar’s attempt to take over Baghdad. Helmed by directors Sachin Ambre and Harsh B Agrawal, the mythological series “Shirdi Sai” features Abeer Soofi, Tushar Dalvi, and Abishek Nigam. The series narrates the story of Sai Baba, who aids the people of Shirdi in finding peace and love, despite facing numerous challenges in his mission to help them. “Shirdi Sai” premieres on June 17 at 7pm on Astro Vaanavil (Ch 201) and will be available on TV, Astro GO, On Demand, and sooka.
Additionally, customers can look forward to the mystery thriller film “Ranam Aram Thavarel,” directed by Sherief and starring Vaibhav, Nandita Swetha, and Tanya Hope. The film follows a facial reconstruction artist who is enlisted by the police to help capture a criminal responsible for a series of murders in the city. “Ranam Aram Thavarel” premieres on June 21 at 9pm on Astro Thangathirai (Ch 241).
The action-thriller film “Idi Minnal Kadhal,” starring Chiby Bhuvana Chandran and Bhavya Trikha, tells the story of individuals who, after an accident, inadvertently make amends for the wrongs they committed against each other. They come to understand that performing good deeds is more prevalent than seeking revenge. Directed by Balaji Madhavan, “Idi Minnal Kadhal” premieres on June 28 at 9pm on Astro Thangathirai (Ch 241).
