Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has commenced filming his latest project, titled “Coolie,” which stars the legendary Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role. The production began a few weeks ago in Hyderabad, marking the start of its first shooting schedule. After wrapping up this initial phase, the cast and crew are set to move to Chennai for the second schedule.
In anticipation of this next stage of filming, there are exciting developments on the casting front. According to a recent report by Glitz, the filmmakers have extended an offer to renowned actor Nagarjuna to join the ensemble cast. This potential addition promises to bring even more star power and excitement to the highly anticipated film. The combination of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s directorial prowess and Rajinikanth’s iconic presence, potentially alongside Nagarjuna, sets the stage for a captivating cinematic experience.
Media outlets have reported that Nagarjuna is likely to play the antagonist in the film, with an official announcement still pending. “Coolie” features an impressive ensemble cast including Rajinikanth, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Shobana, and Shouhin Shahir in prominent roles. The music is being composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
The movie revolves around the theme of drug smuggling and is anticipated to be a high-octane action film. In a previous interview, director Lokesh Kanagaraj mentioned his fondness for Rajinikanth’s villainous roles in his earlier films. He expressed a desire to see the Superstar in a negative light once again. This has led to speculation that Rajinikanth might portray a unique and different character in “Coolie.” As “Coolie” progresses through its production phases, fans are eagerly awaiting more updates and developments from this high-profile collaboration.
Nagarjuna is presently engaged in filming “Kubera,” which features Dhanush, Jim Sarbh, and Rashmika Mandanna. The film, directed by Sekhar Kammula, is being made in three languages. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music for this project.
