Congratulations to the young geniuses on earning a Gold Award for their newest invention, the SMCC (Smart Movement Control Card). This incredible concept was showcased at Poland’s E-NNOVATE INNOVATION SHOW, which featured 20 countries with the participation of around 200 teams of innovators.

This competition is a virtual platform that brings the world’s innovators together in one place. As a result, individuals with innovative ideas can present their innovations in traditional and virtual booths and gain recognition around the world.

E-NNOVATE is more than a platform; it’s a community of like-minded people who want to work together to make a big difference in the world of innovation. This digital platform has a global reach that will catapult creative ideas worldwide.

Prathameshwarar Jayacheetra, a 17-year-old student from SMK Kota Puteri 2, and Kishen Madev Yoganathan, a 12-year-old student from SJKT Permas Jaya, have teamed up to create the SMCC, a groundbreaking idea for children and the elderly who do not have access to a smartphone.

Malaysia uses the MySejahtera app, which was designed by the Malaysian government to aid contact tracing efforts in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak. This application, however, is only available to smartphone users.

Our population includes people who do not own a smartphone, thus the app that is built isn’t always functional to everyone. Hence, this team of enthusiasts came up with the concept of an RFID card system to aid frequency identification devices for purposes of identification and tracking.

As per the team’s presentation, RFID tags contain an integrated circuit and an antenna, which are used to transmit data to the RFID reader (also called an interrogator). The reader then converts the radio waves to a more usable form of data. To simplify it, when you come into contact with the reader, it reads the data on the card!

Isn’t this a brilliant idea by the young innovators? The most remarkable aspect is that both have given serious consideration to what is currently required during this pandemic. There aren’t many inventions that benefit individuals in need.

Prathameshwarar and Kishen both stood out in that area!
