The Indian community is close to celebrating Puthandu, a time of new beginnings, reflection, and celebration. Astro is bringing the festive spirit to screens across Malaysia with an exciting list of local and international premieres starting 14th April.
Promising something for everyone, Astro’s Puthandu programmes feature different languages, including Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi content across TV, Astro GO, On Demand and Sooka, creating an immersive entertainment experience for audiences of all ages.

Local Highlights on Astro Vinmeen (CH 202)
Leading the local lineup is Oor Sutrum Boys, a vibrant travelogue series hosted by Daview Puvanan, Thiagu B, Kris Jay, and Harish. Audiences can join them on a journey through hidden gems across the country, from scenic landscapes and heritage sites to thrilling outdoor adventures and mouthwatering food. Directed by Mugeshwaran Sivanantham, the show premieres on 14th April at 8PM.
Following that is Kambathu Ponnu, a touching family drama. Directed by Saran Z, Starring Jayshree Vijayan, James Devan Arokiyasamy, and Pavetraa Reddy, the story follows Janu, a poverty-stricken village girl who dives into a world of wealth and privilege and discovers that newfound fortune comes with its set of challenges. The series is set to premiere on 14th April at 9PM.
Adding suspense to the season is Uyir Por, a psychological thriller telemovie by debutant filmmaker Surrya Prakash. The plot centres around a group of friends whose fun trip takes a terrifying turn when they become trapped in an underground bunker. The film features Moon Nila, Auro Chakkravarthy, and Sri Kumaran, the film premieres on 19th April at 10PM.
For those looking for light-hearted entertainment, a fun game show, Athuva Ithuva, offers a humorous look at generational clashes between Gen X and Gen Z. Starring a line-up of artist, Aruna Raj, Psychomantra, Shamini Shradha, Thivyah Kia, Dishaaleny Jack, and more. Hosted by Bala Ganapathi William and directed by Mohandass Madhavan. The show is set to premiere on 20th April at 9PM.
International Films
Astro is also bringing a variety of hit films from India to our local viewers. On 13th April, the Hindi crime thriller Sergeant, premieres at 2.30 PM on Zee Cinema (CH 251), followed by the action comedy Ambarsariya on 14th April at 9PM in Colors Hindi (CH 116).
For the Malayalam film lovers, you can catch Thankam, a gripping crime drama, and the action-packed Malayalee From India, which airs at 3PM and 7.30PM, respectively, on 14th April via Astro Vaanavil (CH 201).
On the Tamil film section on Astro Vinmeen incudes Vanangaan on 14th April at 9.30 PM, the dark comedy Kudumbasthan on April 15 at 10PM and the prison drama Soorgavaasal on 16th April at 9.30PM.
