From April 16 to April 18, 2026, the Terengganu International Science Fair was held at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, which had participants and innovation enthusiasts from various backgrounds. This prestigious event was organized by the Malaysian Young Scientists Organisation (MYSO), which aims to inspire and cultivate the next generation of scientists and researchers in Malaysia.
A particularly proud moment during this year’s fair was for SMK Taman Selesa Jaya in Johor, where four talented Indian students showcased their exceptional scientific skills and creativity. These students not only represented their school with pride but also earned several awards for their outstanding projects.

Kirthika Muthu Kumaran (3 Amanah) received a Gold Award for her innovative project, along with the prestigious Best Presentation Award. Additionally, her project secured Overall 4th Place in the Environmental Science category, highlighting her ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and engage the audience.
Moreover, Jayesh Ram Muthu Kumaran (1 Amanah), Sarrveendranath Gopinath (2 Amanah), his brother G. Harrveendranath, and Varnika Prakesh (1 Amanah) were also awarded Gold Awards, reflecting their dedication to their research and innovative approaches.

The remarkable achievements of these four students were made possible through the unwavering support and guidance of their mentor, M. Pherarasi. With her expertise and encouragement, she inspired her students to push the boundaries of their knowledge and pursue excellence in their scientific endeavors.
These students’ achievements not only represent a proud moment for their school but also serve as an inspiration for future generations to excel in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
