On June 8, 2026, Teo Nie Ching, Deputy Minister of Communications and Kulai Member of Parliament, attended the 54th Annual Thirvizha celebration at the Dewa Sri Maha Karumariamman Temple in the Fraser Estate.
Teo Nie Ching praised the temple committee led by chairman Kanna for organising the long-running annual celebration, which brought together devotees and members of the local community. She said the event reflects the strong spirit of togetherness that continues to thrive among residents in Kulai.

Teo Nie Ching contributed RM 5,000 to ensure the smooth organization of the celebration. In 2024, the temple received RM 46,850 through RIBI allocation for roof replacement and other infrastructure developments. Additionally, in 2025, the temple was granted RM 3,000 to support the annual celebration.

According to Teo, supporting community welfare, religious institutions, and educational development remains a key priority in the Kulai parliamentary constituency. Since 2022, a total of RM306,000 has been channelled to support various non-governmental organisations and places of worship serving the Indian community in the area.
Teo Nie Ching expressed her appreciation to all parties involved in the celebration and reaffirmed her commitment to building a more inclusive, harmonious and sustainable Kulai through continued cooperation between community organisations, religious institutions and local residents.
