In contemporary times, Tamil school students have been consistently unlocking numerous achievements, showcasing commendable performance not only in academics but also in various sports activities. The noteworthy accomplishments of these students extend to both national and international platforms, reflecting their exceptional talent and dedication. In that case, Tanisha Manoj Ram, Thejashvini Kannan and Thanuja Indra, year six students from SJKT Barathy, Alor Setar, Kedah has reached another milestone.
These exceptionally talented young students have astounded everyone by crafting a captivating mystery story entirely in English, presenting it as their original creation, and subsequently publishing it as a full-fledged novel titled “Unsolved Mystery”. The feat accomplished by these budding writers is nothing short of remarkable, as they have demonstrated not only linguistic proficiency but also an imaginative prowess that allowed them to weave a compelling narrative in the intricate genre of mystery. The fact that they conceived, developed, and polished a story substantial enough to be transformed into a novel is a testament to their creativity and dedication to the literary craft.
These students, passionate enthusiasts of mystery literature, found inspiration in their shared love and collectively conceived the idea of embarking on an initiative to write a novel. This collaborative effort resulted in the creation of a captivating novel titled “Unsolved Mystery,” which spans a total of 20 pages across eight chapters. The dedication and creativity of these students are reflected in the detailed narrative they have woven within the novel. Each chapter unfolds a unique mystery, designed to engage and captivate readers.
The timeline of their endeavor further underscores the effort invested in this project. Over the course of three to four months, these students dedicated themselves to the process of conceptualizing, drafting, refining, and finalizing the novel.
In acknowledgment of their commendable efforts, the story was officially published as a novel on February 5, with the wholehearted support of both their parents and the school. The significant achievement was celebrated during the prize-giving ceremony held at their school. The event was graced by the presence of YB Tuan Haji Wan Kalim Bin Ahmad, the Chief Education Officer of Kota Setar District.
The publication of the novel stands not only as a demonstration of the creative prowess of these young writers but also as a symbol of the supportive ecosystem provided by their parents, school, and district education leadership.
