The long-awaited additional building project at SJK (Tamil) St Helier in Bahau is now nearing completion, marking a significant milestone after years of delay. The new block will feature six classrooms and one computer room, aimed at improving learning facilities and accommodating students more comfortably.
Originally scheduled for completion in 2015, the project faced multiple setbacks and remained unfinished for over a decade. The prolonged delay had impacted the school’s infrastructure development, highlighting the urgent need for intervention to ensure students could benefit from better educational facilities.

The issue gained attention following a visit by Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh, who pledged to resolve the long-standing matter promptly. Over the past three years, the government has approved more than RM800,000 to support the completion of the project, enabling construction works to resume.

The School Board (Lembaga Pengelola Sekolah, LPS) is currently overseeing the ongoing works to ensure the project is completed as planned. The upgraded facilities are expected to enhance the overall learning environment and provide students with better access to essential educational resources.
The near completion of the project represents a positive outcome after years of uncertainty, bringing renewed hope to the school community and ensuring students will soon benefit from improved infrastructure.
