The MADANI Government through Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) announced six new initiatives under the Malaysian Indian Community Transformation Unit (MITRA) with RM65.5 Million allocation which helps to improve the socio-economic well-being of the Indian community in Malaysia.

The programmes will be implemented in 2026, and focuses on key areas like education, entrepreneurship, community development, healthcare and social welfare. The initiatives are aimed to support families from B40 and M40 groups.
MITRA has been strengthened as a department under the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), which allows to carry out the community development programmes more effectively and transparently. Here are all the 6 announcements made today by the Minister of Human Resources, YB Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan.
The Education Initiatives Are:
1) CELIK MADANI: Early Education Support for Young Children
CELIK MADANI Programme is a initiative focusing on preschool education for Indian children from B40 families. Under this, parents can receive up to RM 2,530 per child annually to help cover kindergarten fees and breakfast expenses. The initiative aims to ease the financial burden on families while ensuring children can receive quality early education before entering primary school. A total of 4,000 children are expected to benefit from this programme with RM10 million allocation.

2) KALVI MADANI: Tuition Support for SPM And STPM Students
KALVI MADANI Tuition Programme is for SPM and STPM Students from B40 families. The programme aims to provide additional academic support through tuition classes, exam preparation and motivational guidance. Core subjects like BM, Tamil Language, English, Mathematics and History will be given importance.
About 5,000 students are expected to benefit from this initiative, which has allocated RM5 million. Applications will open on 5th June 2026.
Entrepreneurship Initiative:
3) UYARVU MADANI: Helping Entrepreneurs Grow Their Businesses
To strengthen Indian community’s involvement in business, MITRA introduced UYARVU MADANI Startup Accelerator Grant Programme.
This programme offers a “one-off” grant assistance of up to RM50,000 which helps entrepreneurs expand and develop their small and medium enterprises. The grant will support many sectors like food and beverage, e-commerce, agriculture, automotive services, digital technology, printing and community services.
Around 500 entrepreneurs are expected to be supported from this programme. Applications will be open on 29th June 2026.

MADANI Rakyat Indian Community Program Initiative:
4) MADANI RAKYAT: Bringing Assistance Closer To Communities
For this programme MITRA will be working closely with Government Members of Parliament (Pusat Khidmat Rakyat Ahli Parlimen Kerajaan). This initiative is to reach Indian communities living in rural, interior and underserved areas where access to development programme is less.
The programme will cover 38 districts in all 9 states, which benefits an estimated of 1.7 million Indians nationwide. Each participating Parliamentary Service Centre will receive RM150,000 to start programmes related to education, entrepreneurship, health and social development. The allocation for this is RM12 million.
Health Initiative:
5) AROGYA MADANI: Dialysis Assistance For Patients
Healthcare is part of the focus MITRA is having. Through this initiative AROGYA MADANI (Program Subsidi Bantuan Dialisis), Indian patients from B40 and M40 families who needs dialysis treatment can receive financial assistance.
Eligible patients can receive up to RM5,000 per year, including subsidies of RM200 per dialysis session for up to 25 sessions annually.The programme is expected to support 1,300 patients with RM6.5 million allocation. Applications will open on 5th June 2026.
6) THUNAI MADANI: Direct Aid For Families in Need
THUNAI MADANI Individual Assistance Programme (Program Bantuan Individu MADANI) is a collaboration with National Welfare Foundation (YKN). And its a financial assistance and welfare support to individuals and families who are facing financial difficulties. The assistance goes up to RM5,000 and can be provided based on individual needs and assessments. Application will be open on 5th June 2026.

More Programmes Expected Soon
The government believes this 6 initiatives will help to improve educational opportunities, strengthen businesses, support healthcare needs and give greater social protection for the Indian community.
MITRA announced that there will be additional programmes which is related to higher education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) will be introduced next month.
